The school has 2 programmes of education for students without The Obligatory Secondary Education Course (ESO); PCPI : Programme of Initial Professional Course, brands of Commerce & Marketing, Electricity &Electronics Every year there are 40 students between 15-18 years old who haven´t finished the Obligatory Secondary Education Course, and have very poor basic skills in Literacy and Numeracy. They receive Basic training in both of these areas, and They also participate in initial training in one of the two professional brands we offer The Programme of Initial Professional Course is a programme for students failing in their previous compulsory studies, so our students had not get the level that our system expects to a 16 years old young. We have some pupils with mild mental disabilities, and in the same classroom we do have inmigrant students, students coming from unstable social and familiar enviroment, or simply students who decided not to attend the school 2, 3 o 4 years ago. Our goal is trying to motivate these students, encouraging their professional skills more than the skills traditionally valued by school. We work in a practical way. However, more of these students have serious difficulties in reading and comprehending any text. At the same time most of them are not able to solve the basic problems of maths required in life. Besides of that, if they want to continue studying in the Vocational training, at the end of this course they have to pass an exam of Literacy and Maths, so these subjects are really important for both reasons: the exam and the real life. The teachers working with them are 7. 2 with a specialized training in Pedagogic, and the others with a technical career. Although only 2 teach the training of Literacy and Numeracy, all of our students have to work with these skills in order to achieve the goals of their specific programs. 3 teachers working with these students are involved in this project. The third one is the Headmaster of the School who doesn't work with these students, but is very interested in it.
